Its funny how you can tell what a baby's personality is going to be like from the womb. For example Taylor kicked me in the stomach all the time then she still kicks me now. No really, I can already tell that this little one is going to have a bigger appetite than Taylor-he or she is already more demanding than she ever was and more tolerant too.
I used to think that cravings weren't really real after my other pregnancy. But, I found out this time that isn't true.I have terrible cravings..worse than you can imagine. If someone mentions Chukie Cheese in front of me I crave pizza for several days. If there is a BBQ where I am at I have to have whatever meat they are serving. This little one is certainly a meat eater..sorry all you vegetarians.I even pass McDonalds and start craving chicken Sandwiches.i once craved Hamburgers with bacon and cheese for several days.Believe me these cravings are intense that one ended with me in tears.."I need a hamburger".
The cool thing is that I actually am able to eat meat and enjoy it. With Taylor meat just about made me lose it.So, no mom we are never becoming vegetarians ..ever.

Merry Christmas from the little family
Merry Christmas!
Just a little update...
Taylor turned one year old just last month and she is finally walking around on her own it is so fun to see her become more and more independent. She is starting to say words like mama, grandpa, up , uhoh, hot and dada.
Stephen has been working for a dairy not far from our farm and I have been busy keeping up with the chores and getting ready for Christmas.
Bonnie-our dog is due to have puppies in January (3rd) and Tilly our cow should calve any day now.
I feel like I'm distracted...i probably should say more..but, that will have to wait until later.

Just being Thankful
I have been wanting to blog this for a while but, I can't quite get the words out. I have time right now though and it looks like I am ready.
Sometimes I wonder why things happen the way that they do-does anyone besides God have the answers though? Why do some people starve while some have nothing to eat? Why are we so greedy when we have so much? Sometimes instead of being thankful for what I have I just really want what I don't have-why is that?
It's hard to see people with so much and say I want that but, than look at someone else and see that they have less than I do-now I am the one that has everything.I think what I want to concentrate on this holiday season is being thankful to God. I want to stop asking God for things so much and just be thankful.
I look around at all the good things that God has given my family-A wonderful farm, healthy animals for milk and meat, produce from lots of sources and canning resources to save our own food, and Taylor. There is not much more that I could ask for.

Taylor and the Chocolate
My Nephews came home with a ton of haloween candy. Which we promptly stuck in a bowl on the dining room table mistake number one. That very day they had a sugar high-we needed to get rid of the candy as fast as possible.
That leads us to mistake number two the boy's mom and I took most of the chocolate and hid it in a secret spot known to me in the kitchen. We were planning to save it till later to make cookies with.
I sometimes like chocolate so knowing it was there was tempting and one day when I snatched a peice and Taylor saw me. Taylor loves to get into the cupboards and now somehow -no thanks to me-she knows what and where the chocolate is. I have to move the chocolate because now that my one year old knows where and what it is.If she sees me with any she thinks she deserves some.
I don't want her to eat sugar because it isn't good for her and I was really surprised how quickly she decided that chocolate was something she wanted.

Babys a comin' soon
Today Stephen was crossing out the days on the calender and he realized that our due date is 4 days from now. I thought we were just trying and walking and that we had 1 or 2 weeks to go still said Steve. I was really surprised, I thought that he knew how long we had to go. It will be exciting to see him with our little girl.
I am getting really excited-I can't believe that it is almost time. She feels so big now as she presses her feet against me as if to say-I'm almost ready mom, there is no room left in here! I try to keep the house clean, I want it to be relaxing when I go into labor and have plenty of food around the house for my husband to eat.He eats like a horse (you wouldn't believe it but, he does).

Am I ever going to have a baby?
Sometimes I feel like I am never going to have a baby.I know that's not true but, it feels like I have been waiting forever. My adorable husband tries to be encouraging- after all he can see the truth that I won't be pregnant forever. For me it is just like why haven't I had the baby yet?
He is really wonderful and patient with me. He rubs my back, endures me crying, and he even made dinner last night! (Maybe he just knows that I won't be like this forever-and that's why he can deal with me now!).I have decided that I am ready to have the baby anytime now, so look for an update with a birth story and pictures in the future -after all she will be here whenever she gets tired of her current home.
In the meantime, I have to get rid of my stuck in limbo feeling and do stuff. I am making Christmas presents for my sisters, trying to get back to the hang of cooking, and making cloth diapers (this is a project that I haven't really started but, I'll have some soon). Yesterday, I went to the auction with one of my sister in laws and walked around all day.

a dilemma?
I wanted to blog two different things today -I already blogged about the dress that I made for Taylor (which I love and couldn't have done without my sister in law).I wanted to blog about the birth, I am having a home birth. I find it abnormal when people tell me that I am brave-in reality i am not-this baby is coming out one way or another and homebirth is so normal to me that unless I was dying I would not go to the hospital. My mom had her first home birth when I was 12.
My only dilemma was the fact that a few people have asked that I call them when I am in labor. Now I really want to relax when I am in labor and I know most of the people won't be offended by not knowing...I am sure they'll appreciate the fact that I don't wake them up in the middle of the night. There is only one person that might be offended-but, they get offended at everything but, honestly for my own sake I don't want them called because I really don't want them calling me 12 hours later and either discouraging my labor by asking if she is here yet or,disturbing my rest because I have already had her. I am sure that they will be offended and won't understand but, I think that I am ok with that-I think this is one case where I have to be a little selfish and not think about them.
The important people that are going to be there are Amanda, Betty the main midwife, Stephen, Crissy and me.

a Taylor dress..

We made a reversible dress for Taylor Grace. This took forever-my plan is for her to wear it to a wedding in early December. The material is leftover from a civil war ballgown that I made for myself (light blue) and a Jane Austen era dress that I made (dark blue). i used chinese style buttons on both side of the dress.

It seems like I spend way more time and care making little girl clothes than I do my own..I wonder why?

It took me forever..but, I broke into my blog again!
So I haven't written in forever..it took me an hour and a half to break into it and I was about to create a new blog.Well, I finally did it.
If you can believe it, I only have 12 days left till the due date. It's November I can't believe it...one of the only things that I am disappointed about is the fact that I won't be able to cook all the delicious Thanksgiving food that I would like to but, I am cooking up something better a baby girl...Taylor Grace!
To update you-
In September my sister inlaws had a huge baby shower for me-as you can see from the shelf full of baby gifts below.
In October I took my nephews to the pumpkin patch. We enjoyed all the fun activities..thanks to a generous friend.
